The most exciting thing that's happened to me personally is the addition of my beautiful fiance, Janet Turner. The photo of the water above is the exact spot where I asked her to marry me at exactly 10:30pm central time, June 19th 2005. (That is the anniversary of the day we met... to the minute!) She's a gifted singer/songwriter from Greenville, SC. We're currently working on several different projects for her. Mostly she's been writing some amazing songs. We're getting material together as we speak to shop for a publishing deal. She definitely deserves one!
I'm convinced that we met out of sheer fate; Chuck Tilley and I went to dinner one Saturday night and happened into the Tin Roof. We were watching the weekend band and in walked Janet. She stood right next to us for about ten minutes before I finally got the nerve to say hello. She had been living in Nashville, but had just moved back to South Carolina. She was actually in town to go on a blind date the night before. Fortunately for me it didn't work out. We talked for a while that night, exchanged phone numbers and went to breakfast the next morning before she headed back to South Carolina. After constant phone contact, she came back a week later and we've been together ever since.
Janet and I are still trying to figure out the perfect day to get married. Right now, we're together and that's all that matters. If we figure out a date we'll let you know!
We just repainted our house. We did all the work ourselves. We actually had a great time doing it (if you can believe that!) Here are some before and after pics...

We even worked on the back.

We worked hard on the inside as well. We absolutely LOVE this little house and we plan to be here for a long time. It definitely feels like home...

We did all of this with the approval of the masters of the house...

Deanie and me with her dog Concho. (Named after the Concho Pearls found in the Concho River in San Angelo Texas) You gotta bring a little Texas with you when you leave.

This is my folks house out in Watertown,TN. They call it Tejas Farms.
